Texas Senator Charles Schwertner, who is the new chair of the Texas Senate Committee on Health and Human Services has introduced Senate Bill 425 which will serve to relieve the confusion between Free Standing Emergency Rooms and Urgent Care Clinic cost structures and billing. Constituents have been voicing their disdain over excessive charges patients receive from a visit at a free-standing ER versus and Urgent Care Clinic.
